That's right ~ I joined the Twilight Saga bandwagon this past week! I was prompted by the kids wanting to read it. My oldest began to read it upon the request of his girlfriend. Now as I'm sure any other mother of a teen boy can understand, I wanted to see what on earth could be so good that an almost 18 year old boy would read it for his girl. I try to read what the kids read but I can't read it all so I at the least try to stay very knowledgeable in what they are reading. Since the main character of this series is a vampire; I decided it needed my complete attention. I've been fascinated with vampires before. Not all of them are bad although I will admit that Interview with a Vampire had me totally freaked for days after watching it! Of course Bram Stoker's Dracula is a classic.
I finished up the first in the series, Twilight, last night. I stayed up til 12:45AM purposely to finish it. It's been a long time since I did that with a book. I have to admit, it's a very good book. I woke up wanting to go buy the next book in the series and not wait on the library. I hope the rest are just as good as the first.
It was a clean, decent book. Good fiction. No foul language. No explicit sexual scenes. Yes, there is some attraction between two characters but the author (Stephanie Meyer) leaves it up to the readers imagination rather than describing it all out into detail. I hope the rest of the books stay that way. It's a vampire love story and the author has done a great job of bring that love story to life with the characters.
I'm doing my best to stay clear of the spoiler threads on message boards out on the world web. It's a bit tough as curiosity does get the best of me at times.
There is a movie set for release in December of this year. You can view Twilight the Movie trailer HERE!

Yes! Another adult Twilight liker! Love it! This series is fabulous. Stephenie Meyer does a fabulous job keeping these books clean for kids to read.
All 4 in the series maintains the "It was a clean, decent book. Good fiction. No foul language. No explicit sexual scenes." line of writing.
The movie...well...I am not sure I want to see the movie. I have visions in my mind and do not want those destroyed. The character physical qualities being the biggest vision.
I discovered these last year while Conan was gone! I've got him reading the series now so I have someone to talk to about it! LOL
I enjoyed the series -- someday I'll let the kids read it as well!
